open to active BCHI members. A
number of Public events are planned each year, Invite a friend. Member
and
stock safety
takes priority in everything the
chapter does. First
aid
kits and emergency
contact devices will be
carried on all projects & rides. Carry
a
personal medical info form in your saddle
bags. Carry
any
special
medications in your saddle bags. Dogs
are
welcome in camp,
but not on work projects & trail rides. Stock
must be
under control
at all times. If
your horse or
mules kicks,
ribbon on their tail. A
pre-event
safety meeting
will be held. Members
must
have Sawyer training to use power saws
on
chapter projects. Required
safety
gear will be
worn when running saws. No alcoholic
beverage until
after the work is done.

Dates:
Crew arrives and camps at the trailhead on June 21 and 22. Crew spends
June 22 clearing annual downfall and scouting ahead of the pack string.
Pack string
arrives to pack in to base camp on Thursday afternoon the 22, packs
crew in Friday, June 23.
Pack out on Wednesday, June 28. Note that last year's camp
was about 2 miles in; this year the FS is recommending a deeper camp
about 4 or 5 miles in.
The
group: SBFC volunteers in a "whiskey society" with a new SBFC leader
plus two Wilderness Ranger Fellows (approx. 13 people). Last year SBBCH
had to do two round-trips to pack in all the weight brought by this
crew; will remind them to limit their load this year (plus 2 nights at
the TH should help!).

The Tin Cup Corrals Project is being
lead by the USFS and involves multiple volunteer groups
with the plan to upgrade this trail head for horse camping and stock use.
Prime access to the Sawtooth's.
