Details: USFS requires each workshop attendee who wants to receive or renew a Sawyer certification to demonstrate certain skills in the field. The level of skills depends of the certification. Field days are always held on Public lands and are coverered by USFS workman's compensation insurance. Field days are a mentorship not a test. The goal is to develop or improve safe sawyer skills.
